Over ride of Custom duty on mobiles, TVs and Electronics

Need not to say how GST is ruling over Indian goods. And now to make strong the “Make in India” reform, the finance ministry has raised the customs duty on mobile phones and other some electronic devices such as mobile projectors, TVs, water heaters and more. From the notes, the customs duty on mobile phones has been raised from 10% to 15%. In according to one of the government notifications, the customs duty on television sets has been increased to 15 per cent from 10% which is existing till now. Same happend in the custom duty on monitors and projectors has been doubled to 20%, the notification passed by Revenue Department in the Ministry revealed.
Also for push-button telephones and mobiles, the custom duty has been increasedd to 15% from group zero befor.

The custom duty on water heaters and hair dressing instruments has been doubled to 20%. Customs duty on some other electronics such as electric filament and discharge lamps has also been changed, as per PTI reports. In the month of October in this year, The central government had decided to increase the basic customs duty on polyester fabric to 20% from existing 10%.
