How to Make Mutton Paaya Curry

Mutton Paaya curry is a most popular curry often served with string hoppers Paratha. It is slightly spicy and has a soup like consistency. This curry can be prepared in less than 20 – 30 minutes. Most of the people are liked this receipe because it is very helpful for the legs pains problem people.

Mutton Paaya Curry Step by Step Process.


Paaya of 1 goat
4 tbsp oil
1 cardamom
1 cinnamon
1 onion finely chopped
1 tbsp garlic paste
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 ½ tsp red chilli powder
3 large tomatoes pureed
½ cup chopped coriander leaves
3 tbsp coconut paste
1 tsp salt
4 cups water

Cooking Process

Clean the paaya with a knife to remove hair or any impurities and wash several times with water.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add cardamom, cinnamon and onions and saute till the onions turn golden.
Then add ginger and garlic paste and saute till the raw smell goes.
Add red chilli powder, tomatoes and cook till oil starts separating.
Now add the paaya, coriander leaves, coconut paste, salt and water.
Bring the gravy to a boil, close the lid and cook for about 15 minutes or 13 to 14 whistles.
Open the lid and check for taste. Add salt or pepper powder if necessary. Serve hot.
